At the end of the broadcast, Colby Cohen basically said that no matter how good Reichel looks in the exhibition season, don't be surprised if he doesn't start at Rockford. Also read that they don't want Reichel to be on a yoyo between Rockford and Chicago, once he starts or gets called up to Chicago they won't send him back down.

I think that for his development the move is regular playing time against NHL competition. The question now is more of when does this happen and not should this happen.

They may want to bring him up with other prospects so all eyes aren't on him again like they were with Dach.

He'll be traded for a 3rd next draft.

So far the takeaway on Reichel has been how great his burst and feet are.

(We also knew from the his early scouting when playing both wings, and not at pivot, that he was quick in and out along the boards player who was fairly consistent in coming away with pucks in his wall and behind the net engagements, and being able to effective and efficiently moving the puck.)

How about we start to see him making plays from his possessions as a centreman?

If Reichel starts with the Hawks I would prefer him as a wing on the top 6. got to figure Domi and Toews will be on lines 1 and 2, and maybe T. Johnson on line 3. I wouldn't keep Reichel up with the big club as a 3rd line center.

There are a lot of ifs. I was impressed with Korchinski, Savoie, Guttman, Reichel. Vlasic. Long season ahead...hope we finish last and get the top pick.

Lot of ifs for sure. Just have to be patience and hope the KD and his team stick to their plan.

Sometimes the past on video tells a far bigger tale than you image.

The time: minutes before the 2020 Blackhawk draft team of Stan Bowman and Mark Kelley
The place to find: In the archives of Blackhawk TV or what ever on their NHL portion of the site.

The clips starting much earlier and working "live" as other teams are selecting.

The Blackhawks have Lukas reached as their first target. The two discuss him, and then discuss which players they hope get selected instead of him so hey is there and thenlatsr as the slot is closer their anticipation that he will be there.

Kelley expressess confidence that a guy like Lundell will help if he goes off the borate before Reichel.

And then they start getting happy when teams pick others and they thunk they will get the guy who does't get selected before them, defender Kaden Guile, or Reichel.

BUT this is what grabbed my ears, how just a few picks before they were talking about the two forwards they had to choose between when they were up at the mike.

I watched this the other night and THOUGHT I heard items I heard right, they had Reichel as their top forwards and behind him was LW William Cuylle who stayed oin the board until the 60th pick (2nd round).

Now I guess I get why Cuylle was going to get elected, a big physical guy, not too different in his behavior from Washington's Wilson, alway willing to intimidate, a big hard shot, but needed better handling ability.

It just seemed like a reach and I went back and confirmed, yup they said his name....

the problem is they are going to getting exceedingly thin and center prospects if you think Frankie and Ludzinski are not wingers.

Having waited from 1961 until 2010 myself, not 100% sure "Kool Aid drinker" is the proper descriptor here.

Edit: there were a LOT of Blackhawk playoff teams those years, but only 2010, then 2013 and 2015 mattered.

It is going to be a long road but going to be very interesting to see how this team gets built!

Both! Tampa's pick will be a lottery pick.

I will be watching Wiz,s projections of who will be avaiable at 20 to 32 next year as the Hawks will have Tampa’s #1 and another when Kane is traded.

The Rangers just picked another 1st rounder in a trade with Dallas. Maybe they need two firsts for a future trade?

It is.

I was hoping Dallas would trade for Seth Jones.

I wasn’t being serious. Just poking fun at being optimistic, its been a while since optimism was warranted.
